Should you Practice ASVAB Questions? Will they help you on the Test?

 

Planning on enlisting, want to serve your country in the military? If that’s the case, you’ll certainly be aware of the process that is facing you: your medical, your pledge to serve this nation, to “defend this country from all enemies, both domestic and foreign” and perhaps most significantly, the requirement to pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery or ASVAB. And if you’ve got this far in your thinking, you might even be thinking of preparation and thinking to yourself: should you practice ASVAB questions

Ok, so before we answer this question, let’s take a look at what the ASVAB exam actually is; and what in fact it is designed for, both for you and our armed forces. In essence, the ASVAB is your standard basic knowledge exam. It consists of 200 questions and is time sensitive. It is used by the Army, Navy and Air Force, in order to determine your academic levels, your skill sets and your potential leadership credentials. Our forces utilize it as their tool, in the manner of a psychometric test, to determine: what job, what role, you the candidate is best suited to within our armed services and how the armed services can best use your unique skills and attributes to ensure that the United States Armed Services remain the most pre-eminent and peer-less armed forces in the world.

How the ASVAB test does this, is to find out what your unique talents are and how to put them to best use within the military. So, as such, it cannot be said to be comparable merely to the old standard IQ test. It is that and some more. So now we know a bit more about the ASVAB quiz, can it be said that: you should Practice ASVAB questions?  

Well, the answer is yes, simply. However, before you practice ASVAB questions you should understand that in order to maximize your effectiveness in the test and in your practice you should have an understanding of where your strength’s are. Both academic and other. Although much of the quiz will examine your basic academic strengths and will endeavour to determine your competence in diverse areas such as: Math, Electronics and General Science. It will also try to quantify your abilities and skill sets in areas such as:  Mechanical Comprehension, Auto & Shop Information.

So yes, if you feel that you have something to offer our military in terms of knowledge or skills in areas such as those just listed, of course you should Practice ASVAB Questions. It’s like any test, practice makes perfect. As a famous golfer once said, “The more I practice, the luckier I get!”

Don’t worry if you haven’t attended college or even under-achieved at high school, the difficulty of the ASVAB quiz is equivalent to a high school test of basic skills, both academic and practical. So, if you havn’t been in education for a while or under-achieved you can come up to standard and/or cover weaker areas by taking Practice ASVAB Questions.
